What Is A Title I Program?

Title I is a federal program that is designed to help students get a strong education and meet the academic standards.  Title I funding is based on a school’s free and reduced lunch rate.

Mount Lookout Elementary has a schoolwide Title I program, meaning the entire school benefits from Title I services.

Title I at Mt. Lookout provides for a Title I teacher, two interventionists, and a Parent Coordinator.  It also provides after-school programs, professional development, computers, and sometimes educational field trips.

Title I encourages community involvement in the school.  Parents should feel welcome at Mt. Lookout Elementary, and be encouraged to volunteer.
