NCHS School Schedule

For the first week of school, NCHS will operate on the following schedule:
Students with last names A-J will attend on Tuesday and Wednesday
Students with last names K-Z will attend on Thursday and Friday
After the first week of school NCHS students will attend school as follows:
Students with last names A-J will attend on Mondays and Tuesdays
Students with last names K-Z will attend on Thursdays and Fridays
Wednesdays are dedicated days for deep cleaning.  NCHS will work to accommodate families with students in multiple schools.  Masks are required at all times when social distancing cannot occur (to and from buses, hallways, commons area, and classrooms that cannot accommodate social distancing).

Welcome to Nicholas County High School.  Nicholas County High School has maintained a tradition of excellence since 1914.  NCHS will utilize technology and data to facilitate a collaborative and engaging learning environment.  Our students will become lifelong learners with the critical thinking skills necessary to enter the global 21st Century workplace.

The curriculum, through a departmentalized system of instruction, offers a variety of courses, including advanced placement courses, Career and Technical course offerings, and JROTC as well as exemplary art and music programs.  Many extracurricular activities, including a rich tradition in boys' and girls' athletics are also available at NCHS.

The NCHS faculty has contributed in various ways to the curriculum and outstanding traditions of the school.  Many have demonstrated innovativeness, a willingness to be risk-takers, and unquestionable dedication.  The stability, longevity, and professionalism of the NCHS faculty are significant factors in fostering the school's continued state-wide reputation of excellence and the recognition of many of its teachers at the local, state, and national levels.

An integral component of NCHS' success is the strong, continued support of our parents and community.  Throughout the history of NCHS, parents and members of the community have been instrumental in the establishment of several scholarships, serve on school committees, coach our athletes, provide work based experiences for our students, and offer boundless support on a variety of fronts.
