Recently there have been an uptick in phishing emails. The latest was an email imitating Superintendent Beam asking for your cell phone number. Please use caution when sending personal information to anyone. To educate people for their protection you can take this email phishing quiz. As a precautionary measure Cherry River Elementary has been locked down due to authorities searching for someone in the area. The school is safe but students will not be allowed outside during the search.

Nicholas County Schools will release 3 hours early on Friday, October 13th, 2023 for Faculty Senate. All Faculty Senate days will be a 3-hour early release.

CRE Parents, Reminder tomorrow, Wednesday August 23, is Open House from 3-5 pm.

This is a reminder Nicholas County Schools will have a 2 hour early dismissal for students on Friday April 21, 2023 due to state mandated faculty senate.

February 10, 2023 Parents, We are having a Valentine’s Dance on Thursday, February 16. Grades K-2 will be 2:30-3:30pm (pay by Thursday at noon so we’ll know who is staying late) Grades 3-5 will be 4-5 pm (also pay by Thursday at noon) You can make an account on the following website to buy tickets for $5 each. We are using the money to help the 4th and 5th grades with their end of year field trip to Kennywood Amusement Park. You can also pay at school until Thursday at noon. Please, if you buy your tickets online, buy them ASAP so we can have a list of who has paid. Making an on-line account is very simple, and then you can buy different things for your child such as yearbooks. You can also tag your students in other schools such as RMS, or RHS, and then you can buy items for them, also. Nicholascountyschools.schoolcashonline.com Parents cannot be at the dance, as we will have staff supervision. **There will be NO AFTER-SCHOOL on the day of the dance.

All Nicholas County Schools now have an online payment option, effective February 1, 2023. Schools often have student fees or activities that require payment. Those payments can now be paid online. Fees such as field trips, spirit wear, activity fees, and more. It is no longer necessary to send cash or checks with students to school: now you can pay online from the comfort of your own home. The student’s WVEIS ID number and last name will be required. An email will be sent to you each time your child has been tagged as a possible participate which may require a fee.

Tomorrow is the Christmas Parent luncheon for PreK, 2nd and 3rd Graders. 🎄 Wednesday is wear an Ugly Christmas Sweater or pj day. Thursday is the Christmas program. It will begin at 8:30. Parents may start coming in at 8:10. This day is also a two hour early dismissal day.
