๐ŸŽ‰ Fantastic News from Mt. Nebo! ๐ŸŽ‰

We had an unforgettable morning at Mt. Nebo Elementary! As we gathered for an assembly โ€” not knowing what it was about โ€” we were surprised and honored to welcome a very special guestโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘€ The State Superintendent of Schools for West Virginia, Michele L. Blatt, along with the Assistant State Superintendent, visited our school this morning! What a moment of pride!

Their visit came with amazing news: Mt. Nebo has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Exceeding Standard performance in Academic Achievement and Academic Growth! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ“š

Out of over 600 schools in the state, only TWO were selected for this incredible honor โ€” and Mt. Nebo is one of them! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

This award is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and heart of our students, their parents/guardians, our outstanding teachers, and our dedicated support staff.

We are Cardinal strong and proud! ๐ŸŸฅ๐Ÿฆ… The character of our students shines brightly in all they do โ€” especially as they gear up to take on challenging assessments. They consistently show up, work hard, and demonstrate excellence in every way.

Receiving this plaque today was an amazing experience โ€” and we want to give the loudest round of applause to our students. ๐Ÿ‘ They truly earned it.

Letโ€™s keep soaring, Cardinals! ๐Ÿฆ…Congratulations on a job well done!

Dear Families and Guardians,

We truly enjoy creating fun and engaging events that bring our school community together. Itโ€™s always a joy to see our students and families connecting and making memories at school.

That said, itโ€™s important to remember that the learning doesnโ€™t stop after lunch. We still have valuable instructional time in the afternoon, and when students are checked out early, they miss out on important lessons and activities. Additionally, these early checkouts do count toward their total absences, which can affect their eligibility for the Attendance Field Trip at the end of the first nine weeks.

To ensure we can continue offering these special events, we kindly ask that students remain at school for the full day. Your support helps us keep the balance between fun and academics strong.

Thank you for your understanding and partnership!

Warmly,

Mrs. McMillion

Grandparent's Day!

๐ŸŽ‰ Grandparents Day is This Friday, September 12th! ๐ŸŽ‰
We are so excited to celebrate our amazing grandparents and welcome you into our school for this special event!

๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿ‘ด Important Info to Help the Day Run Smoothly:

โœ… The BEST and FASTEST way to get into the gym and be matched with your grandchild is to pay for your lunch ahead of time.
Weโ€™ve had an overwhelming number of responses, and we know Friday will be a busy day! Pre-paying helps us keep lines short and everything moving quickly.

๐Ÿšช Entry & Security Reminder:
All guests will go through a metal detector at check-in.
To speed up the process, please leave all unnecessary items โ€” especially things like pocket knives or other metal objects โ€” in your car. This will help us ensure a safe and smooth experience for everyone.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Please Remember:
This event is for Grandparents only.
Due to the number of people attending, we need to limit guests to grandparents at this time. Weโ€™ll have other special events throughout the year for other family members to participate in!

Thank you for your cooperation and support in making this a meaningful and safe day for our students and their grandparents. We canโ€™t wait to see you Friday! ๐Ÿ’›
